offers numerous classes for adults and children on diverse topics

Indoor Play
Toddler Play Indoor Playtime is available at
the following locations/times of year in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. (A great
idea especially when the weather is cold or rainy!):
Chapel Hill Community Center Parent-Tot
Morning Extravaganza (in the Community Center gymnasium)
Tuesdays & Thursday mornings, 10:45am - 11:45 am through May 3rd, 2012. Free.
Toys are available for toddlers to play with, and you can also bring your
own toys that won't scratch the floor.

Great park for meeting other moms and
kids! The playground has numerous play sets, swings, slides,
monkey bars, tire swings with a springy, soft surface underneath, and is surrounded by lots of green space and a
lovely rose garden with brick walking paths (The Gene Stroud
Community Rose Garden). There is a bicycle path around the
park. Multipurpose recreation center also offers
indoor swimming,
indoor climbing wall, indoor and outdoor basketball, outdoor
volleyball, summer camp, bocce ball, compost
demonstration site, walking trails, sun deck, and picnic tables.
The multipurpose room, gym, and climbing wall are available for

When it's cold outside (from September -
May), kids can run around and play in the Community Center Gym during
Parent-Tot Time on Tuesdays. (Dates/Days of week/Times subject to change.)

Homestead Park
(aka the "Dinosaur
Park") and Chapel Hill Skate Park

From Airport Road, turn west onto Homestead Road,
take a right onto Northern Park Drive which leads to Homestead Park
(located 3 miles North of downtown Chapel Hill, 2 blocks west of Airport

Playground A
favorite meeting place for area playgroups, the "Dinosaur
Playground" is tucked away in a woodsy area at a good distance from
the Homestead parking lot areas. (The trees offer some shady areas
in the Summer.) The playground features a
friendly dinosaur slide, swings, and an additional large play set with
slides, tunnels, and climbing bars. There are also picnic tables
and benches in the shade. Bathroom facilities are open in the
Spring and Summer. The restroom facilities are not open in
the Winter (closed from October to May), so plan accordingly if you have little
ones!
