About Cate's Farm/Williams Woods Neighborhood in Chapel Hill / Carrboro NC

The entrance to Cate's Farm is reached from Hillsborough Rd. (there is a McDougle School cross-walk on Hillsborough Rd. at the entrance to Cate's Farm Road.) The entrance to the neighborhood is lined with a pretty white fence, lit up at night.

CHAPEL HILL SCHOOLS: Cate's Farm is a classic Chapel Hill/Carrboro neighborhood located within easy walking distance to McDougle Elementary and McDougle Middle School, and a few minutes drive to Chapel Hill High School.

HOME / LOT SIZES: The spacious 2,600 to 3,500 square foot homes in the Cate's Farm neighborhood were built in the late 1990's by St. Lawrence homes on 1/3 acre lots.

Cate's Farm is in a beautiful setting conveniently located off Hillsborough Rd., just minutes (an easy bike ride) from downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Rockgarden Road and Garden Gate Drive in Cate's Farm are especially pretty; lush green trees and gardens all around.

Cates Farms historically was the site of family-owned farms going back in time to the 1800s and prior. One of the Cate's Farms homes on Buck Taylor Trail has a historical cemetery marker for John "Buck" Taylor, who, according to local legend, was buried standing upright with a whiskey jug in each hand. (The historic marker reads: To the Memory of John Taylor. Born June 22, 1747; died May 28, 1828. A Patriot of 1776.)

The Cate's Farm neighborhood is great for long walks, running and riding bikes, and is surrounded by several other classic established Chapel Hill neighborhoods. A CLASSIC trick-or-treating neighborhood!

The Wexford neighborhood is just up the street from Cate's Farm (Wexford can be accessed through Cate's Farm Rd. from Hillsborough St.)

The Cate's Farm neighborhood is only minutes away from Mapleview Ice Cream and dairy (a local favorite for homemade ice cream fresh from the farm!)

GREAT LOCATION Minutes to Chapel Hill & Carrboro - Carrboro's Weaver Street Market grocery store (with its Sunday outdoor live music gatherings), Looking Glass Cafe, Kinetix Gym, Open Eye cafe and lots of excellent restaurants are just down the road in Carrboro, and downtown Chapel Hill is just a few minutes further!

EASY ACCESS to I-40, RTP/Raleigh: Cate's Farm neighborhood is conveniently located with easy access to the Triangle: Less than 10 minutes' drive to I-40 (from there it's an easy drive to Durham and Raleigh); 5 minutes to historic Hillsborough; 10-15 minutes to Fearrington/Chatham County.
