CHAPEL HILL Area Neighborhoods
Favorite Neighborhoods for Families/Kids

Chapel Hill Historic District, Chapel Hill, NC Neighborhood

Location: Chapel Hill's Historic District neighborhoods featuring beautiful, old historic homes are located on and near downtown Franklin St. and Rosemary St., many within walking distance of Chapel Hill - UNC and downtown Chapel Hill businesses, restaurants and shops.

Chapel Hill's classic, Historic District neighborhoods include the Gimghoul neighborhood and Franklin/Rosemary Street neighborhood; both are included in the National Registry of Historic Districts. (There is a great deal of fascinating history behind these historic areas, including the history behind the Gimghoul Castle which is located in the Gimghoul neighborhood, but privately owned and not open to the public.)

Chapel Hill's Laurel Hill Road is the home of the Rocky Ridge Farm neighborhood, with homes built from the 1920's to 1950's, and beautiful woodsy lots and flowering trees and gardens.

Chapel Hill's Historic District Neighborhoods are located within an easy drive from 15-501 and I-40, leadingto Durham/RTP and Raleigh.
